PRIVACY AT GATHERED

Your stories belong to your people.

What we collect

Gathered stores organizer account details, the information used to set up a story gathering, contributor names, email addresses and relationships, conversation transcripts, optional photographs, consent records and basic technical events needed to keep the service reliable.

How it is used

We use this information only to run the private gathering, provide the organizer’s dashboard, preserve interviews, send important contribution updates, create the requested book, prevent abuse and improve the service. We do not sell personal stories, contact information or photographs.

AI processing

Live conversations are processed by Google Gemini to produce the interviewer’s audio response and transcription. Raw microphone audio is streamed for the conversation and is not stored by Gathered. Transcripts are stored so an interrupted interview can resume and the organizer can review what was shared.

Who can see it

The organizer can see contributor details and submitted contributions for the person they are celebrating. Contributors can access only their own submission through their secure browser session. After an organizer requests a book, an authorized Gathered editor can access that gathering’s submitted stories and photographs solely to write, design, review and deliver the book. Private photographs use time-limited links.

Your choices

Contributors may skip questions, stop at any time and withdraw before gathering closes. Organizers may close, archive or delete what they created. Deleted gatherings enter a 30-day recovery period before permanent removal.

Children

Gathered is intended only for adults aged 18 and over.
